The idea of a low price iPod is great, however, it seems that in order to do so apple would have to compromise a lot. I am not sure apple would be willing to do this. Maybe they will just redo the current versions to be smaller and cheaper. I don't see a 128MB CF minipod selling all that great. I mean come on there are all ready tons of devices like this. No, if apple makes a minipod it will be special in some way. it least i would hope... \

Price point, the competition as above can't even support $100 mp3--if apple and it's elegant iTunes+iPod can get to around $179 what competition is there it could have a 2gb HD but how much music do people carry. In a car most people have maybe 20-4- cds, plus 6 in the changer. If there was an ipod that held say 12-20 cds of music 200-300 songs.

What apple needs besides a "cheaper" ipod, is a typically elegant car adapter system. then the ipod, itunes, aac, can be more flexible. We really need a apple clean cool effort to car integration which no one has.
