Where did you get your RAM? I get all mine from Crucial.com

I have never had but one problem over the many years I have shopped with them. I also have many people whom I have turned onto them, and not one of them has had a problem with them. The RAM comes in, and I install it, and it reports and fucntions like it should. I don't skimp, I go crucial. (BTW, crucial.com is more times than not less expensive than most places, but not the cheapest. I find it worth the extra 15-20 bucks from the cheapese place I can find for peace of mind and lack of problems and great customer service on the off chance you do have a problem.) The only thing that ever happened was that I had a chip go bad after installation, about 3 days after. I called them, they had me a new chip next day. Free.

Since the G5 bus architecture is point to point, I would think it is feasible that slower speed RAM can work in a G5. RAM, processor bandwidth, everything is independent of each other unlike in previous systems, where RAM had to go at the FSB speed, so theoretically RAM can go as fast as it wants to and everything else has to wait up for it.

ASP sucks, i just check my G4 533 and ASP said that i have 100 mhz memory. Considering that i have only 133 mhz memory (the original DIMM included) i think that you cannot trust ASP.

I just looked at my ASP and it has the Apple installed RAM as "unknown".

Hmm now that I look at my ASP, it reports my RAM as being PC2600... which as far as I know, does not exist (should be 2700).

Wow, This is the first time I've used Panther's ASP and it's quite different! I like it!
