"no purchase necessary"
You know when you hear about a contest on TV or something there is always a disclaimer that states that you don't have to purchase the product in order to be entered into the drawing...
why is this?
is it a law?
does every contest have to provide a "free" entry?
what about non-us companies?

ok, and if the company is in say germany... how does that work?
If they want to run a contest or sweepstakes in the US, they have to play by the United States' rules. Or else it doesn't happen.
