Can we deduce from your post that since you can't even spell the guy's name right you don't have the ability to contribute to this discussion?
I have to admit that I did a copy/paste of the name from someone elses reply.

WTF is this then? Did you post this or what?

Hey, but at least the timing is good with MLK day and all. What a way to celebrate!
Bunge just admit that you posted with no real basis to know what the hell you were replying too. You're "Bush" == "bad" == "insult to memory of MLK" is weak.

Why don't you just admit that you're attacking me for no reason and when other people called you on it you felt stupid?
A very high profile and public promotion happening on Martin Luther King day for someone hampered with very serious accusations of racism is very stupid and deserving of ridicule.

And sometimes people who want to be offended WILL be offended.

Probably. Unless Kickaha or others want to argue for its continued usefulness.
Don't you dare drag me into this - I was only answering your uninformed question on how it was ever constitutional, and why.
Seriously, have you ever *READ* the Constitution?? <- not sarcasm, not an attack, a genuine honest question.

I did post it, because if Pickering is a racist shit or not, it's what he's known for being. So the timing of the appointment is poor regardless.

Now that's true too. I wasn't offended, but I think most people who know about Pickering would agree that the timing was off.
THEN
"Any appointment of a federal judge during a recess should be opposed."
- Sen. Trent Lott (R-MS) opposing the appointment of an African American judge, December 2000
NOW
"Judge Pickering's record deems this recess appointment fully appropriate."
- Sen. Trent Lott (R-MS), 1/17/04
WHAT AN ENLIGHTENING FIND!!!!!
