With the next revision, hopefully a dual 1.8Ghz G5s will be the new low end Powermac because I want to throw in a 20" ACD. (Maybe that LCD will also be the new low end ).

I'd really love a portable G5 but then again a Powermac would be sooo much faster in terms of price. I really have no reason to have a portable, I will be in college but I still think a desktop will last me longer through the 4 years than a Powerbook. Man, a PB would be sooooo amazing but I dont know if I can justify the speed/price ratio difference between that and a desktop jet.

    Mini iPod

My two aunts (1 gold 1 silver) and I (silver)

How come there's no "G5 cube" option?

Well......no many people need over 300 songs in a portable music devicce. Honestly I still have hard time filling up my 256MB Samsung Yepp

You may say "Oh yeah, you can use the bigger iPod as external hard drive" such and such. But let me tell you that I already have one bus-powered FireFly and two AC-powered FW Hard Drives + one AC-Powered USB hard drives. I don't need "yet another external storage"

My aunts and I are the type of people who want everything small ..... except monitor size and $$$

Therefore, the mini iPod will be just fine to us

I just bought a Powerbook G4, so the next hardware purchase I'm looking to is a new iPod. That probably won't be for quite a while, still, though. Currently I have a 2nd Edition 10GB model, and with some song file management, that'll hold all the music I need for probably another year. At that point, hopefully the price of a 40GB model will have come down far enough that I'll be ready to buy one.

i'd vote for a new rev 23" ACD. since that's not one of the choices, i'd go w/ a PB G5.

Nofeer - the 15" PB does have a PC slot, but the current version of VPC (the last time I checked) does not capture the slot. Hopefully MS will be solving this problem with the new version. There is also a 512 MB max limit on the current VPC - another issue for MS to resolve.

I'm waiting for the G5 iMac to replace a 6 year old Dell and the G5 PB to replace the G4 PB that I use for business trips. I'm guessing the iMac will be available very soon and the PB around summer.

Sadly the 5 Gig iPod will have to stay for a while.

I'll be buying a Cinema Display whenever they are updated to match the G5 look. I also, may buy an iPod soon, so I voted iPod.

The prospect of an iMac G5 really gets me excited. I'm really anxious to simplify all the cables coming in and out of my dual G4. Not to mention the ethernet switch I need because my G4 doesn't have Airport Extreme. There's no reason to get the current iMac becuase my AlBook is just as fast. I just hope the new iMac supports at least 2GB of RAM. Otherwise, I'll be looking at another PowerMac.

I blew my student discount on a PBG4 last Fall so I have to wait until June before I can pick up another Mac. At least the G5s will be above 3GHz by then!

I voted for an iPod mini since I'm going to get a silver one to give as a gift, but I will also be getting two G5s for the office this spring, so those might come first. Whatever the cheapest dual configuration is in March or so; I'm hoping for a dual-2.2GHz, CTO with an ATI card and 1GB of RAM, for around $2,500.

I've heard rumors that rev. c could bring 3.6ghz. It makes for a very tough decision in the next 6 months - buy or wait?

Rev C. 3.6 Ghz? That'd only happen if they release something veeery powerful now, like 3Ghz, which is: Unlikely! :-)
