wierd, now that I think of it, my doctor had BOTH

    hands on my shoulders

JK, but I recently turned 40 and I dread that inevitable visit to the doctor.

You should have opted for the PSA rather than the DRE.

I enjoyed looking at your pictures. You did a great job, as everyone said.

Loved the brackets. Your dad should go into the custom bracket business. Seriously.

As to feeling grown up - part of me will never grow up. When someone tells me I HAVE to do something (like at work), I still always feel rebellious, just like when I was 15 (especially if I think what I 'have' to do is a waste of time, which it often is).

But I do feel grown up when I know I have the freedom to do whatever I want, when I want, in my own life. And I make my own rules (which means there aren't any....hehehe).

Tried it. Prefer the Calphalon. \

Mauviel is pretty damned nice, but at $400 a pan... eek.

Back when I had my hair like that, I just stood in the bathtub, closed the shower curtain, and ran the Wahl clipper over my head. No muss, no fuss.

Not standing in water with an electrical appliance in your hand is important though.

Yeah. I just bend over in the middle of the bathroom and let the hair fall on the tile. As a matter of fact, I need to shave it again. I've let it get shaggy this winter (at least 3/4" long! I'm a damned hippy!)

    Cheers

I cut off a 3-foot ponytail when I shaved mine off in 2000. Hadn't cut it in 10 years. I could tuck my hair in my pants.

Yeah, it's time to cut your hair when you can braid it with the hair coming out of the top of your butt crack...

martha stewart stainless at KMart are excellent pans, and are 50% the cost of all-clad. (martha's aren't as posh as all-clad, but in my usage they are as durable) buy 'em while she's still in business!

i hate calphalon, you have to baby it like crazy and all it takes is one person using it that doesn't know what SHE'S doing and it gets trashed.

i go stainless when i cook and only use a non-stick when i have to.

I'd like to get a set of really heavy, top-quality stainless pans.

Any brands you'd recommend as 'the best'?

Where can one get Mauviel, Kickaha? How much does it cost to buy a set? (I could wait till they go on sale. I'm VERY patient. )

mauviel is copper which i wouldn't recommend for your main cooking set. it's nice to have some copper but for a full main set (unless your a gourmet french chef) stainless is the way to go, and all-clad can't be beat, if you got the dough.

there are many signature brands like emiralware, and wolfgang pucks pans that are of all-clad quality.

all you have to do is hold an all-clad piece in your hands to tell the quality. look how solid the handles are riveted on. use all-clad as your guide when picking out cookware. i'd pay three times as much for something that's not going to break.

i'll say it again, check out martha stewarts stainless cookware at KMart, it's pretty good quality.

    if all-clad is an A, martha is a B.

cookware should be like a good piece of citrus fruit, when you pick it up it should be heavier than it appears.

just google anyone's cookware to find sources MetroKitchen is a good place.
