Judy Dean in 2008!
I watched the Dean interview with Diane Sawyer (or some talking head) and I absolutely love his wife.
Take all the good things about Hillary (independent, strong, substantive) and put them in a less offensive package.
American politics are dominated by men, unfortunately, and I would love to see more women run for office. I don't think Judy Dean is president-material, mainly because she seems more interested in her own life and family than her husband's political career, but I think she would be a perfect first lady.

I'm with you, even though I didn't see the interview.
What I don't understand, I guess, is why everyone sees Sen. Clinton as so offensive. I've never gotten that.
Cheers
Scott
If you want to see why Hillary is offensive, even to me, look at her behavior during the state of the union address. That look on her face at the beginning is so off-putting I can't even explain it.
Judith *Steinberg* Dean.

I didn't get to see the interview of her, but I did get to watch some video of her from the Dean sight when she was with her husband in Iowa. Some on here said she looks "dowdy" but I think her very cute, very smart, shy and of course all the qualities Grove mentioned as well.
She reminds me quite a bit of my own wife in her mannerisms and expressed values so far.
Don't forget that Elizabeth Dole ran for president, and also is now a senator. See here. She doesn't get 8 million dollar book deals, but she is every bit as qualified as Hillary as well and much more presentable and pleasant to boot. The only issue she will have going against her likely is age. She will likely have been around to help break down the doors, but will likely be judged to old to walk through them since she would be 72 during the next election.

I found the Sawyer interview (it was on the Dean sight, a big duh on my part) and watched it.
They even popped up a clip of the Hillary and Bill interview from 1991 or so and she had pretty much the same facial expression.
The way I would explain it is this. Profoundly calculating with a profound distaste for losing.
Oh and of course after that interview I almost think Howard Dean stole my wife. I may have to check our phone logs!?!
They look like a great couple. Lots of inside understandings and jokes that were genuine. Not a single answer seemed scripted or rehearsed. (Which I guess is the Dean strength/curse right?)
While she doesn't accompany him on the campaign I do think it would help him if she did because she appears to soften his edge quite a bit and that is of course what people are harping on him about. He also (again obviously) smiles so much more when she is around.

myt question is whats left-over on the cutting room floor/cutting room xserve raid (lol) but realy, it all depends on the political perswaision of the editor/producer this is true in any pre recorded interview on any network
if they are deaniacs they obviously want them lookin sharp, if they are bushites then they want them looking like bafoons, and lets face it, EVERYONE has an oppinion
what's up with that? Vermont is cold... volvos are from sweden and can handle the winters...
and from what I've read... the Deans are very frugal... he buys off the rack suits... drives midsized cars (NOT VOLVOS)... nothing about them says rich yankee elitists.
It's ok to slam new englanders for driving volvos (which aren't all that expensive)... but you can't slam people driving $60K gas guzzling SUVs?
Or families with houses in Maine and Texas and all go to Yale? And are members of the Skull&Bones.
Dean is an elitist... but Bush isn't? riiiight.
please, continue with what you were saying...

Oh it's just code for the stereotype of the brainless, Bennington attending, pottery throwing, peasant skirt wearing knee-jerk liberal that some people like to throw around to scare people with the idea that they'll seize power from the god fearing and force us all to become hommasexshulls and allow furreners to take our women.
Announcer off-screen: WHAT DO YOU THINK OF HOWARD DEAN?S PLANS TO RAISE TAXES ON FAMILIES BY NINETEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS A YEAR?
Husband: WHAT DO I THINK?
WELL, I THINK HOWARD DEAN SHOULD TAKE HIS TAX HIKING, GOVERNMENT-EXPANDING, LATTE-DRINKING, SUSHI-EATING, VOLVO-DRIVING, NEW YORK TIMES-READING . . .
Wife: . . . BODY PIERCING, HOLLYWOOD-LOVING, LEFT-WING FREAK SHOW BACK TO VERMONT, WHERE IT BELONGS.
Husband: GOT IT?
Announcer: CLUB FOR GROWTH PAC IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONTENT OF THIS ADVERTISING.
Bill Maher has said that that Club for Growth ad actually used code words to rally the troops.
Latte-drinking = gay
New York Times-reading = Jewish

I grew up there, so I have 20 years of New England cred to rely on for my comments.
PS- most rich Yankees are Republicans. And don't mention the Kennedys because they aren't Yankees.
