I'd link to it, but it's just one sentence on his daily blog...

News From Apple Tomorrow

Tomorrow promises to be a ?big? day for Apple, so get your credit card balances down and your paychecks deposited?

well, we were all expecting SOMEthing around the 20th Mac anniversary. and Maury has ALWAYS known when something was coming down the pipe, either software or hardware related, but he has honorably rarely divulged details. basically, i trust the guy.

so, anyway, no other details than that...for now.

So did Macrumors but for today. Since tomorrow is a Tuesday and nothing appears no Apple's site today I'll go with Maury.

Screed ...if it's just price cuts and speed bumps then that's not "big"

there are three times apple will usually do an update on a non-expo or tradeshow announcement:

    - midnight pacific

    - 9 am

    - noon

all pacific times (so take eastern, and subtract 3 hours). they have been known to change these up, by going with their eastern time zone equivalents to make the eastern news companies broadcasts and such, but that's been the exception more than the rule.

maury definitely knows someone "on the inside" and seems to have glimpses of damn near everything, but he never divulges details. personally, i can see apple using up 2 or 3 of their apple.com prime real-estate homepage areas for announcements, while also keeping the ipod/mini on there, and maybe the xserve stuff.

    rok,

Actually, to get EST from PST you need to add 3 hours. When it's 9AM in Cauliflower, it's noon on the East coast.

Previous Tuesday updates have been added to Apple's site around 9AM EST (6AM PST). I'm hoping tomorrow brings some serious updates. I have an AlBook but I'd love some G5 goodness.

Central is two hours later than pacific and one hour before eastern. For example, 9 AM Eastern would be 8 AM Central and 6 AM Pacific.

"big" in quotes means it's a big announcement (as in momentous) but a small product. Handheld? Tablet? iPhone? I can't wait.

Good gravy, people...t's NOT that hard!

Perhaps Apple needs to come out with iZone, a little desktop utility (it can tie in and work with iCal, I suppose), that automatically, on-the-fly calculates time zone differences?

All these smart people here at AI can talk coding, programming, frontside bus, backside cache, heat output, etc. But heaven forbid they have to calculate what time "King of Queens" comes in in Des Moines if they were on a plane trip from Tacoma.

Not necessarily so. It might mean "big" as in truly "big"...perhaps that 30" display everyone seems so convinced exists and is coming? Introduce that in a new aluminum-looking, smaller-bezel design, ALONG WITH the other models all updated, appearance-wise?

Might just be a "big" day for displays? They're the only things in Apple's lineup that haven't changed their basic overall look in YEARS (don't bring up any of that "stripes" bullcrap or I'll kill you ). The displays still have that curvy, silver plastic/clear acrylic look, when the towers (and PowerBooks) have moved on to a more "square-y", metallic appearance.

At SOME point (even if not tomorrow), I'd think that Ive and the gang would like to put out a different-looking display, if only for reasons of consistency and "matching the G5" a bit. But I'd like to think they also worked some tilt-and-swivel magic into them as well.

Oh, and lowered the price by a gazillion percent.

    I don't know.

    Heh.

In fairness however, there are places in the US that just simply ignore DST.

    Damned non-conformists.

my guess is that whatever will be shown/announced will be a large EVOLUTIONARY jump (i.e. easy-swivel iMacs and complimentary cinema displays) rather than anything REVOLUTIONARY (like the iMac intro in '98 or the iPod debut), mostly because steve et al. haven't sent out whackloads of invites to the press. they only seem to do that when they take a massive leap in a new, potentially controversial direction.

this isn't to minimize whatever the announcement is, and a full line of easy-to-use swivel flat-panels from a computer hardware vendor would immediately make apple stand out among pc makers who are flooding the market with you're run-of-the-mill lcd's (and put some short-term added value onto imacs versus their competitors)

Humans follow god's time...he made creation and thought:

God: Damn these days were way to long, I think I'll shorten them to a 24hour period, hopefully they can eventually look at their galaxy and figure out my time.

I want new stuff now, I have tons of cash stashed away so I can get a great and up to date set-up. I just bought an iPod mini and have every part of the digital hub except a digital camera and a REAL desktop or laptop. I have an "aging" iMac 800 G4 with a scant 256 MB of RAM. Im probably gonna sell this baby and get whatever new G5 system comes our way...please tomorrow....!

I'll go on record as predicting speedbumps Power Macs.

Along with new displays: New largest size, price drops on the rest.

Of course, this isn't much of a prediction, since they did the exact same thing last January.
