apple is doing excellent what makes you say this? without iPod sales they still would have had a profit. Not only that but their mindshare is incredibly strong right now.
ok let me clarify my point. obviously powermac sales werent as high as apple wanted them to be last quarter, and it seems like right now is a great time to introduce a speed bump and have a record quarter. if they wait too long, the updated pmac sales will be spread out over two quarters rather than one. remember, apple is trying to gain respect right now, and that includes confidence from investors. investors only care about numbers, so apple needs to dish them out. i hope this isnt all coming across the wrong way, and the line about apple going under was a bit overboard. sorry.
