Who's your funniest TV character ever?

in General Discussion edited January 2014
In honor of the 5:00 TVland Andy Griffith show finally working back around to the early episodes...

In a close heat with Homer Simpson mine is Don Knotts as Barney Fife.

Whether it's general bumbling tomfoolery, blowing a little thing waaaay out of proportion, or the sniffle of supreme overconfidence, he kills me every time.

What about Ernest T. Bass? (not to be confused with his nephew Ernest P. Worrell)

Jon Stewart is up there in the daily show. He is just generally funny even off the cuff.

Absolutely! Everything Canadian on that show cracks me up doubly so.

    Colonel Flagg from M*A*S*H

If there's a rerun with him in it, I will watch the show.

I really like Mr. Burns. He just has such great lines:

"Family. Friends. Religion. These are the three demons you must slay if you wish to succeed in business."

"Social Security Number: Naught-Naught-Naught Naught-Naught Naught-Naught-Naught-Two. Damn Roosevelt. Cause of Parents' Death? Got in my way."

"This anonymous clan of slack-jawed troglodytes has cost me the election, and yet if I were to have them killed, I would be the one to go to jail. That's democracy for you."

I also like Captain Forthes from that show "Destinaton: Future" it was short lived on FOX when FOX just started out.

Captain Forthes: "Now, we know this man did not kill himself. We all know it is impossible for humans to kill themselves."
