Update the third circle

Posted:

So, it would seem that the picture in the top right hand corner has become outdate... HOW ODD? Who knew this industry would produce more products to outdate an image featuring four of them. The one I notice most out of place is the Speedholes on the third circle from the left. I am just saying, i bet it turns off about, I don't know, 30-420 people from coming to this site, thinking it is out of date... Just a suggestion

(now I wait for someone to say "I have a suggestion for you, stop posting those smokeys!)

Actually, circles one, two, and three are out of date.

I noticed this recently and plan to update it soon. Don't fret.

To me it looks like three out of the four are "outdated", but who cares, they are all good Apple computers and the images fit in quite well...

EDIT: Brad... you beat me to it... quick on the draw I see.

I think the first looks like a Xserve G4. Maybe the seccond looks like a TiBook. The third is a PM MDD.

I have no fscking clue what the forth one is... ummm... yah...

Maybe Nebagakid should try to do better with "up-to-date" apple hardware... he did bring it up.

The last one is the iPod remote control. That's not out of date... yet.

Funny, I would have numbered them right to left... when I saw third circle, I thought TiBook.

Well I don't know how things are done in Northern IN, but up here in Canada we order things from left to right... I guess that is because we read from left to right and we write from left to right...

Are you saying that I should have mentioned the other two out of date circles, or that I should try to make a new image?

it actually took me a sec or two to realize it was a L-R problem and not a R-L problem.

there probably is a bias towards reading R-L if the things (perhaps not words) are on the R side of the screen

I think you should take a shot at some new images for the upper right... because the only images you seem to come up with all look the same. Green with glasses and all.

The design may take some talent, but the implementation does not look that hard.

Hollow white circle with an inner shadow that is over a zoomed-in part of an Apple product. Making it probably was not that hard, I do not put down the design at all though.

I have made other images. I mean, you can check out my site and see if there is anything there that might interest you. I am not a one image guy

    I MADE A DOUBLE PUN!

Quickly putzing around a few moments ago...

Just updated the hardware a bit, for giggles (G5 Xserve, aluminum PowerBook, G5 front and 3G iPod). Keeps the same look (wasn't attempting some major, unsolicited overhaul, etc.). Nor is it an "end-all, be-all". Just showing that it's a fairly easy task to plop in some recent hardware.

the speed holes themselves are out-of-date...

need to make a "mesh" pattern of some sort...

or the air-holes of the G5 Xserve...

whats that last one? why isn't it a mini? (is it the console prompt??)

    Bah!

We used the "speed holes" long before Apple put them in the towers. It's a staple of the AppleInsider design as much as the blue-grey background. They aren't going anywhere any time soon.

Ooh, new ones are up... they look good, Brad.

    1. Xserve Raid?

    2. PowerBook 15?

    3. I'm stumped...

    4. Backlit iPod Screen. Not Mini

The old ones were better. Also, I like pscates's revised ones much more than these. These ones seem too abstract - you can't tell what any of them are, they're not familiar. They're just shapes, lines, and colors.

Eh... I'll get used to them.

ya.. doesn't really matter but these are better

The original speed holes were just as abstract. With the last set, I eased up a bit, but some were still relatively weird if you didn't have a good idea what they were.

How many people do you think really knew that the fourth hole was the iPod remote when they first saw it? I'm sure some people didn't like the last set when they were first introduced.

Oh, and like with the iPod remote in the last fourth hole, still no one has guessed correctly what is in the new fourth hole.
