I am very sorry about the problems you have had... I have a G4 iMac and I am very, no, VERY happy!!! OSX speed is very good, DVD:s play great etc. I would suggest that if anyone is considering buying one, please try it out and have your own experience first. Dont let any negative (or positive) comments influence your buying of this grat machine.

    A least you paid the rev A price. <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

I'll wait for an iMac to hit 999. Could be a couple a years.

It looks like summer '02 is the time to finally take the plunge. [Graduating, new U in Sept, no more access to a very posh, and nearly private, Mac-lab after summer.]

Looks like a nice shiny 12" iBook, and a custom built HomeTheatre PC for me.

i (as almost always) agree completely with mac's girl (except the icky AOL part)...have no complaints and love burning dvds---have done more dvd burning than i thought i would (iDVD is the bomb)...everything seems to work very well together...i use iTunes more now that it doesn't seem to mess with the other software like it did on my old crt iMac and 9.1.....i use iTunes as a timer when i play games so i don't stay on too long....set up about an hour of songs in a playlist and then start up Black and White...when the music ends i know it is time to put my creature to bed...sorry for all your troubles...perhaps you are more suited toward a pro machine...as mac's girl said, i think i am the target audience for this machine (a mom or dad with a digital camera and mini dv camcorder and a couple of spoiled kids....though as a college kid i would have LOVED to have had this computer in my dorm room...music, movies, maybe even homework...it would have looked wicked sitting on my desk next to the bong g

ah, gelding, i was waiting for your arrival to this thread to defend your beloved imac. ...it's good to be the target audience, aint it?

(hey, i only keep aol for the mail. but every so often, i do send out hate e-mail to aol customer service telling them im quitting because their service to mac users sucks!)

OK, we've heard a LOT of testimony, and the verdict is that something's defn wrong with G4-Dude's machine. sorry, man.

now, i want an iBong!!!! it'll be powered by the firewire port, so you dont have to heat it up.
