Existence, face it, Dean's done. He's not a part of the establishment and was threatening the Democratic Machine Bill Clinton put together. Kerry has been around long enough to know the rules; Edwards is being groomed for the future. Clinton/Edwards 2008?
I'm no Dean apologist, but he's second in terms of delegates. If he does well next week he'll do well overall. I think he's got a chance to make people listen if nothing else.
Dean is now batting 0 for 9 while Kerry's 7 for 9, and Clark and Edwards are 1 for 9.
BTW, let's talk about Wesley Clark. He had an *excellent* showing today.
He won Oklahoma, came in a strong 2nd in Arizona, and North Dakota and looks to come in a strong 2nd in New Mexico. This will keep his campaign alive at least through Super Tuesday.
No one had as good a night as John Kerry, but Clark did very well, as did Edwards who not only had a victory in South Carolina, but strong 2nd place showings in Missouri and Oklahoma.
Lieberman is out, and Sharpton and Kucinich are no longer factors. Dean has to be out soon, and it will be interesting to see what happens. Having Clark and Edwards battling it out for the south only helps John Kerry, but it's more likely that Edwards will drop out then Clark, as Virginia and Tennessee are must win states for him.
Interesting - Edwards outspent Kerry 4:1 in SC according to *shudder* Fox.
Kerry himself quoted a 5:1 ratio when talking to Chris Matthews this evening. Regardless, do you think this means that Kerry gave up on South Carolina or that Edwards just pumped that much more money into the race? I'd like see the actual figures.
In fact, it was Edwards that broke campaign finance caps. Clark hasn't even received matching money for what he's raised, how could he have outspent Edwards or Kerry?

In SC? Oh, I bet he feels stupid.
He out spent every candidate in every state including SC.

But still... 'home' state, 4.5:1 spending... and 45%? Hmm.
