    Unless it's a defective battery... I wouldn't worry too much about it. As is always the case in forums... people are usually there for help... so you're likely to see more problems than not... that's not really a representation of how the hardware performs for the vast majority. Lithium ion batteries should really only lose capacity (down to about 80% as I mentioned) after about 500 charges... it should really be well beyond that before it actually dies.

    You can find cheap firewire cards out there if you look. Go to pricewatch and search "Firewire PCI". Belkin and Orange Micro are not the only sources.
