Well, that's good that they've got it now, A YEAR AFTER WE INVADED and nearly a year after "major combat operations are over."
You can't very well blame them for just waltzing over the country can you? I mean, its not like they planned to win the war is such a short amount of time. Its not like they planned for winning at all...
Yea I do have a point. You're just being too obtuse to bother with it. I'l repeat.
The new body armor was in production and they didn't have them yet. That was Cheney's explanation.
A lot of new things are in production for the military. The military doesn't stop what they are doing until everything's ready. They go with what they have when then are called.
What I fault them for is sending then into battle without the phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range. We need to hold Bush accountable for that.
I don't know. Was it up to military spec? If not AND it has been bought AND someone died because it failed THEN you'd be here crying about that. Besided you wouldn't want them to go outside the competitive bid process would you.
But you know all of a sudden the military hating left cares a lot about the military when they can think they can use them to their political advantage.
No. Kerry tried add a tax increase rider in the supplemental spending to pay for the body armor. That's what he voted for. Not getting that he voted against it. So he voted against body armor.
So let's get to the bottom of this.
Cheney accused Kerry of being against 'body armor' when talking about his vote against the whole supplemental $87b, which included a whole lot more than body armor.
Scott picks up on this political spin and regurgitates it.
But kerry didn't vote against 'body armor,' as he explains in his statement I linked to above. Saying he did is as spinful as spin gets.
Nice try, scott, but any semblance of objectivity you may have had a year and a half ago seems to have left the building.
OH, and BTW: look why SDW thought this was significant:
Yea I do have a point. You're just being too obtuse to bother with it.
Zing! Pow! Whap!

This is an honest question: Were they sent into Iraq with ANY body armor? Or at least, in any quantity? I'm serious. Is kevlar body armor standard issue? Or rather, was it then? Is it now? Can anyone in the military answer this question?

Yup. And we sure as hell had to hurry, didn't we? Couldn't wait any longer, what with the imminent threat and everything....

Yea they didn't have it ten years ago either. What an outrage.

ooooooohhhh. Zing! Pow! Crash!!
They didn't "have it" in 1870, either. Or in 1588. Or at the dawn of time.
But it did exist when we invaded and was in production.
Did you have a point?

In the end. Kerry voted against it.

Oh I see. So including a way to pay for the $87b is a bad thing. Got it. Thanks for clearing that up.

And there was no time to wait since Saddam had all those nukes posing an immediate threat.
