Ok boys and girls...calm down or no cookies and milk.
Democracy. Freedom of the press. That's it and thats all. What we did was wrong. It will aggravate and confuse the Iraqis even more. Because if you put one form of free speech down...others will follow.
In the US there are publications by white supremacists, islamic militants, jewish militants, gun lobbyists, pot heads, conspiracy theorists, and countless others that have the freedom to say and print whatever they want.
And furthermore why shut down a paper that may eventually offer clues and information that we could use in our "restoration" there in Iraq.
One good thing about freedom of speech is that you can hear where the idiots are coming from.
Ted Nugent said something like that...he's an asshole but I'll agree with it...
what artman said...interestingly they shut down his paper and now that want to arrest him...should make for some violent times in iraq for a while....
what a quagmire, will surely keep the cycle of violence going

<quag>Hey, al-sadr is stirring things up. But what we have done flys in the face of what we are there for in the first place (well, some including myself are a little aware what we're really there for...). Now we have even more anger and dissention...they're throwing themselves in the paths of our tanks in Baghdad and we are now sealing off the town of Fallujah and indiscriminately bombing homes there.
Oh, and here's freedom of speech for you:
"Iraqi police in the city visited mosques, dropping off Arabic leaflets from the U.S. military, telling residents that there was a daily 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew. It ordered them not to congregate in groups or carry weapons, even if licensed. It instructed people that if U.S. forces enter their homes, they should gather in one room and if they want to talk to the troops to have their hands up."</mire>
I'll grow up if you can gain a better grasp of the English language.
Wait! I want my cookies and milk!
Honestly, this may be the last time I'll waste my time and effort expressing myself (and using a spellchecker) with you pussies...oop, no cookies for me...

Things are so bad over there that the Army has no trouble hitting it's re-enlistment goals.
Army divisions hit re-up targets
Nevermind. I already know the answer is no.

From the epitome of maturity! You probably can't even see that your own statement contradicts your point.

Cool. I guess they listened to the soldiers.
They probably all got the same morning talking points fax for a few days in a row (oh, you think?).
