On this page for refurbished Dual PowerMac G5's from Small Dog electronics it says they are expecting a shipment of refurbed Dual 2g G5's on April 2nd. Thats wednesday (I just realized, thats actually friday eh?) .

http://www.smalldog.com/product/12650574

Could this mean that resellers will be handling the remainder of Apples G5 refurb sales so their new G5 model sales wont suffer at the Apple Store?

Im just being optimistic though, I dont really expect any new Macs this month or in April. Im buyin one when they are released though.

    April 2nd is actually Friday, which would be three days after the day people are assuming the updates will come, Tuesday the 30th. So it may be more coincidence than anything, but then again what the hell do I know.

    I think rumour mongering increases exponentially with the days since the last hardware release!!

    Amen! Rumors have been REALLY stretching but it looks like the current promotion on G5s+LCDs is more for the end of quarter results than warehouse clearing. So, here's hoping new G5s tomorrow!

    I am quite happy with my PowerBook and really do not need a G5 at this point unless my boss is in a rather giving mood!

    Just for fun, I went to Compusa.com to check out the inventories on the G5's and the Dual 2 is virtually nonexistent in all of the area codes I could think of. The don't even offer the 1.6 and the 1.8 seems to have the most stock.

    Anyway, IBM does have their presentation on their chips on Wednesday I believe, and then Thursday is the 1st. It would almost seem fitting to release the next revision the day after IBM's thing and on April Fools Day.

    We're so freaking out, we're even speculating about a THURSDAY release of new G5s. So doesn't this mean, every week, we'll be saying "On Tusday", then on wednesday, we'll be saying "This Thrusday",

    Apple should round up everyone who is waiting for a rev b. and punch us in the gut every Tuesday morning. Because that's pretty much what's going on now.

    They surely are...

    I just had a look at apple.com/pr and it's been more than 4 months since the last time that Apple introduced some new Mac or 'Book (except for the XServes, but that isn't what everyone's waiting for right now...)

    So, Apple, GIMME SOME NEW TOY

    Tuesday doesn't necessarily have to be the day for an introduction. The iBook G4 and the last eMac update were done on Oct. 22 which was a Wednesday. So Tuesday is not set in stone, it was just their pattern for much of last year.

    I keep getting this error in the last 10 minutes, when trying to go to the Apple home page.

    Hmm, Apple was incorporated on April 1st if you remember. IBM is announcing new PPC roadmap on March 31st. Wonder why they chose that date? Could mean some interesting stuff come Thursday.

    Apple will be 28 years old on April 1st, what better way to celebrate that than with a 2.8 GHz G5?

    Only if you count the apostrophe, me I would have counted the spaces too.

    Steven P Jobs = 13

    PowerBook G5 = 12

    April 1st 2K4 = 13

    Anniversary = 11

    subtotal = 49

    you're a nut = 12

    total = 61

    61-49=12 months from introduction of G5 @ 2.0GHz to the 3.0GHz G5.

    (lack of information) * (length of time since last update) = rampant speculation + willingness to believe anything.

    At least, that's my working theory. I'm still collecting observations.

    (Li) (Lu) = Rs + B

    Hmmm...I just wish we could isolate and solve for those variables.
