covered in amber, placed in a chair in the backyard... i should look good in all 4 seasons...flowers blooming around me, bright sun and green grass, leaves falling across my feet, snow layered up on my shoulders and lap....
Go in for electrical cremation, you can get your handful of ashes in about an hour. 600 degrees in a pre heated furnace ignites the body parts as it is moved inside the furnace on a trolley...
I work with a woman that wants to be stuffed, put in the corner of the living room, with a beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other.
Close to what one friend of mine wants...except that he wants to be buried also in his Charger with Linerd Skinerd's "Free Bird" playing on a loop in his 8 track player...
Me? I'm not one but a Viking burial looks so awesome...
We had my father embalmed when he died. He used to be an air navigator for Qantas and wanted to be buried in his hometown in Queensland. So my cousin who is now a pilot for Qantas, arranged to have him make his "last" flight there with the airline (weird shit goes down when people die let me tell ya).
Only problem was Qantas insisted he had to be embalmed in case he went "astray" en route (couldn't have him lying around Tokyo airport getting all smelly).
I've never been quite sure whether it was a good idea or not. While I know he would have got a kick out of flying "home" one last time by Qantas, embalmed bodies take an awful long time to rot away. And there's something about that I find a bit creepy.
hmmm with all intents tring to not be insensative? if i ever had one of my parents enblamed i would be srrucken with alsziemers and oh so temped to try to get a prince to kiss them saying "trust me its just a really old and cold sleeping beauty"? or maybe that might be sorta weird to do that, hmmm. oh damn you ADD

Ha. I actually just had this conversation with a friend a couple of days ago.
Personally, I just want a simple cremation, then to have my ashes scattered through a beautiful forest, into the mountains, and out on the breeze in some nice field. Experience all the elements, you know?
Other-Ashley [we're both named Ashley] on the other hand, well, she wants to be stuffed with her knees slightly bent, her hands up in front of her like claws, and her fangs bared. You know, like an angry stuffed bear. Then, for her funeral, she wants to be displayed in the center of a room where there'll be a rave going on. Everyone who attends HAS to take a hit of LSD when they walk in the door, and everyone has to say something.
I've gone on record and stated that my family should attempt to make a profit from my death by selling my body to the highest bidder.
This is an excellent way to go. Not only would your folks get money out of it, your parts might save other people, promote science or art. I think it's not legal to sell organs here, though.
I think the only way I would definitely *not* want to go is church graveyard, ugly modern headstone, etc.

Years ago I read something about bodies lying on a table at the undertaker's in Italy.
I guess they started tying bells to the bodies, because sometimes they came back to life when no one was paying attention.
Of course, now I have to tell you that they used to tie bells to the corpses' winkies.
This of course gave rise to the expression...
" Someone's pulling my chain "
