I just registered here yesterday and I've only been reading the board for a few days before that. This is actually my first time reading this forum.
While browsing through the threads on the front page of this forum, I gotta ask, are most folks on this board a liberal/Democrat/other left-wing third party member?
Do you think there is a correlation between PC/Mac users and Republicans/Democrats?
No, it's just that the people on appleinsider consider themselves conservative also seem to have a major problem with these little things called 'facts.' It just looks like there are more liberals because so many people have to spend so much time correcting them that we never actually get to talk about informed ideas and positions, be they conservative or liberal.
I said people are too complex in their belief systems to fall straight down liberal/conservative lines.
Sorry, I just saw this totally misguided statement and figured the paragraph was actually consistent:
Quote:
There are a good number of us floating around here. But I think the majority of my "moderate" buddies here are just liberals who cannot stomach the term and would rather be considered "above" any hard category.
Conservatives don't feel the need to jump through complex, intellectual hoops in order to understand or justify some of their positions, he said. "They are more comfortable seeing and stating things in black and white in ways that would make liberals squirm," Glaser said.
If I had a nickel for every time I've seen this be true, I'd have at least a dp 2.0 ghz powermac
Oh come on, he had a point (even if it was exagerated) and you know it.
Anyway, conservative here, but, jessearl (as has been stated), if you know what's good for you, you'll avoid political threads. Not because you're conservative, but just because they're a dangerous place to be. Regardless, Welcome.
WOW berkly, that isnt a very liberal institution known for being rough on conservatives because the libs out there are too closed-minded to accept others who are differant in what they beleive.
</sarcasum>
KKK policy: You dont look/pray like me, therefor you are inferior
UC-BERKLEY /eleitist lib policy: you think differant therefore you are inferior.
this does not apply to all libs, just snobby nosed eleitists
Yeah, it is sad when there arent enough voices to argue a point. Many good points get burried underneath the vast amounts of liberal responder posts.
The exact opposite used to be true here. It was a constant republicant rant. I fought tooth and nail to try and help clean it up a bit. Thank the sky things are better now.
i'm not a democrat, a republican, or anything yet, i'm only 16, don't really care about politics, i used to be a flaming liberal, then a libertarian, now i don't know what i am, probaby a little more on the liberal side now.

Conservatives are idiots.
Wow. An article from fscking BERKELEY? They're not biased at ALL.
That's like citing a KKK report on civil rights.

Yes. Because the University of Califonia at Berkeley is known for lynching conservatives, burning their houses and terrorizing their families.
And that's on top of being one of the top research institutions in the country!
Where ever do they find the time?

if it's a good enough point, and if it's argued well, it should only need one voice.(the point will do the rest)

this perhaps is only true in a text driven argument...

could be, but I know that if I am given a really good point that is presented well, if nothing else, it makes me think and/or reevaluate my position.
