I believe once PCI-Express comes into the fold, we will see some wild aberrations. Like multiple 16x PCI-E slots which could support multiple video cards.
Imagine quad or more projectors filling a room for gaming in ultra high resolution.
multiple graphics cards will not appear in a laptop anytime soon,
unless you're adding the 2nd card via Cardbus or PCMCIA (Radius used to make one)
USB provides a power channel to the dongle which allows for a wake ping. Bluetooth does not provide any power to the BT chip unless the system is already awake, so there's no way for it to be 'listening' for an incoming signal and wake in response.

as for monster monitor options... Ultimate Display Overkill
PowerMac tower would be required for multiple graphics card support
I recall seeing an 8100 era tower with seven Gfx cards driving seven monitors once.
performance was poor (bus issues), but if you just wanted a videowall effect with one image, it worked.
My Apple BT mouse and keyboard do not wake a sleeping PowerBook, BTW.

Sorry if I confused you, my comment on the multiple graphics cards was not about laptops, I was refering to desktops, but I didn't make that clear.

are you sure? they seem to think the wireless keyboards and mice DO wake powerbooks, at the apple store.
Bluetooth wireless keyboards and mice will NOT.

here is how i do.. before i start the mac..
1. connect USB keyboard with mouse
2. connect 19" Flat LCD monitor
3. connect power cable
and here is the trick = if power cable not connected, the computer will NEVER, i mean, NEVER woke up from the sleep.. or start at all
4. push power button..
5. close PB screen at the same time i hear startup sound..
enjoy my friends..
