A "what if" buying decision: 17'' Display w/12'' PB or 15'' PB?

The choice would be even simpler if Apple would just do a separate 17" screen with a widescreen ratio.

Its the standard ratio on the 17" screen that sort of turns me off to it.

    Its a good screen though.

Looks like I have been persuaded back into the 15'' camp. The order will be replaced shortly.

Dude, I just got mine this afternoon. I get the weekend to set the beauty up. You could have been doing the same! No soup for you!

Oh well, at least you still have a Mac in the house.

The 12" would be stolen just as easily as the 15".\

Just bought it, again! Oh yeah, and this time I added an Apple wireless mouse.

Honest to God, what's wrong with me? I guess I just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing with my hard earned contanti.8)

I'd say a wireless keyboard is a better purchase than a wireless mouse. Of course, neither will wake the powerbook if its in closed lid mode, but if you play games, the mouse wont be very reliable. Wireless keyboard and an intellimouse work terrific (since it has two buttons). But that's just my two cents.

I dont play many games if any, on my Mac. Sorry, that's for the XBox or PS2. Anyway, the wireless mouse will be just a lot better in a dorm/on the go setting. I hate cords.

Now that would be tremendously more difficult, I would probably just stick with the 15'' if only because it ALWAYS has a better screen with it.

    Messiahtosh,

My new 15" arrived yesterday and is about the same configuration as yours. I did get Apple Care as I learned from my old 667 PB that it well worth the price - pays for itself many times over during the 3 years in a lot of situations.
