Congratulations guys on the new purchases. I'm an IT/network admin guy too. After all the crap I have to deal with all day at work, there's no way I would ever have a PC as my main system at home. Once you come to grips with how OS X works, you'll wonder how you ever got along on Windows.

(Oh the things I could do with a department full of Macs...)

What are your thoughts on it now after having it for a week?

I love it. It's surprisingly fast and the multitasking capabilities are absolutely amazing! I only have 256MB RAM at the moment so I can only imagine how well it is capable of running after a RAM boost. Wireless and Bluetooth "just work" unlike the hair tearing episodes I've had configuring them in Windows. Even my MS Bluetooth mouse works better than in MS's own OS!

The only thing I really want for it now (apart from the RAM) is RPC1 firmware for the Superdrive so I can watch the other half of my DVD collection (which I got from the USA).

My new PB by far the best PC I've ever bought.

    that made me laugh

as a side note, it can help your IT career to become fluent in Mac. I work in a Mac/PC shop, and 90% of IT folk are automatically disqualified if a job opens up, simply because they don't know a thing about Mac.

But after heaps of research last year, I realised that they rock and have been wanting to buy one since last October. The new revision (and a bit of spare $$$)finally drove me to it!

Basically I was sick of the 3-4 monthly required Windows reinstalls and unreliability. This will be a big change for me as I actually work as a IT Tech for peecees and have been using them for 14 years. Now I will be able to gain the knowledge to give advice about Macs to people at work instead of saying "I know nothing about them"

    Can't wait for delivery!

Doh! Just realised I should have ordered the TV out adaptor too.

it comes with a s-video cable (that is, if your TV has S-Video input) ... all you need is... a Y-Adapter for the audio (headphone jack, male... red & white cables, both male). I'm also a switcher, as of last week... congo rats man~ :P Apple mobile machines are tough to compete with...!

Actually the MiniDVI to Svideo adapter is not included. It's an optional extra. The PB 12" only ships with a VGA and a DVI dongle.
