Just read and interesting ARTICLE from WIlso, the hudband of Valerie Plame.
Yet another guy trying to sell a book. He's not credible -- in particular, his claim that his wife's CIA affiliation wasn't common knowledge prior to the "leak" is bunk.
As for the "cult," it's only paranoia when someone on the right talks about conspiracies, right?
The GWB cult is irrelevant in terms of foreign policy. GW is just the man of the moment for these guys. They have been elbowing their way into senior republican foreign policy spots for decades, gaining initial real strength with reagan and formally grouping into PNAC during Clinton.

You know, it never ceases to amaze me how little people that support the bush admin actually know about the people and policies they support.
The fact is that you, too, can get most of these folks' dissertations through your local libraries. AEI posts basically every little scrap of info they can, as do all of the other groups. You can go take a couple classes on Plato and Aristotle to get some understanding of what they are talking about, and strauss' books are freely available. And there is more than enough on Wohlstetter to keep you busy for years.

Not in any sense that's relevant here. Contemporary history of US foreign policy is what it is. Republicans have dominated it for decades with the two strongest movements (well, some neo-cons like to call theirs a 'moment'). Democrats have had a much more complex approach.
Clearly the neoconservative political theory is fundamentally flawed, and as I briefly mentioned above, it's pretty clear the flaw is the wrong-headed synthesis of two extreme philosophies and the negligent application of the result. There simply is nothing remotely like it anywhere else on the US political map.
I don't think anyone here has missed your level of personal loathing for GWB. Your point has been made. And made. And made. We get it. Heck, some of us even agree with you.
Yeah, Jubelum agrees with pfflam re: Bush...riiiight....LMAO.

So here I am, happily ignoring the flame war, until I read this:

That has to be the most dumbf*ck thing I've read this week. Let's cover Joe Wilson first. He's had a 20+ career in the foreign service corps. He was the last U.S. diplomat to meet with Hussein in 1990. Bush Sr. called him "a true American hero".
Now about his wife: No, her "affiliation" wasn't common knowledge, it was a secret, it was covert. What that means is that whoever in the White House told Novak that piece of information broke the law!
They broke Federal laws!
Novak broke the law!
The CIA told him not to publish but he published anyway. Bush Sr. went on the record and said the deliberate outing of a covert agent is tantamount to treason.
If it was common knowledge, then there would be no investigation. But there is an investigation. In fact, it's gone so high up that Ashcroft recused himself from the case. Junior probably had nothing to do with this particular incident, however, by this act alone there is a criminal or criminals in the White House.

GW is disposable to them.
Horray!
Good to know someone else understands this.

Standing firm does not make you an extremist. What a load of crap.
Railroading that 'something' over someone else for your own self interest without any consideration for someone else makes you an extremist.
The Bush Admin is striving to provide freedom for Iraqis?????..... What a load of B.S.
Its one Christian extremist group playng into the hands of an Islamic extremist group.
