    Agreed. A dead end.

No attempt whatsoever has been made to accommodate all of them and bring them together under a leadership acceptable to all (obviously with the exception of the terrorists which all those groups would stand against as much as the coalition anyway - and who will have to be dealt with by ANY ruling government).

The real question being, has such an attempt ever been even supposed? I have a firm belief that Bush wanted oil and only oil, terrorists being a mere justification. His admin never cared about any region-specific complexities, the history of the nations involved, non-trivial religious aspects, etc. Why? Because they hoped they would not have to deal with this hell of problem themselves. They relied on proven tactics of changing one dictator for another which would lick their asses in every imaginable way. That doesn't seem to work this time.

This would actually be diplomacy, negotiation. But Bush doesn't work like that - it's 'us' and 'them' who cares what the subgroups of 'them' are ? And worse, 'we' don't negotiate with 'them'.

When your military gorillas raise their heads, diplomats are no longer needed. And, by the way, diplomats are traditionally not very good at raising the patriotic spirit.

What I think is the worst thing for Americans is that every war started by the US army makes more and more people hate Americans. All over the world. One should think of it because it matters.

No doubt Bushcorp will blame the "terrorists" for this. We need to ask, "Who benefits the most from this". The answer being Bush. Having the greatest motivation we need to consider the US Army as the prime suspect in this assignation (not the first time [cough]Berg[/cough]). What type of relationship did this man have with Paul Bremmer? No doubt he was opposing the US so they took him out.

Well considering you're ready to eat up every lie told to you (e.g. faked army rape porno) I don't think you're able to tell fiction from reality. You'd rather pretend that Saddam was just okay and the US is the real evil in the equation. You've lost all ability to think rationaly and and can only consume the most incendiary lies about the US.

When did I make any claims about the faked army rape porno? Please, show us all, or recant your statement.

I've lost the ability to think rationally? I think the tables have actually turned scott. You you can't even fathom a rational response when the US does actually do something wrong, like torture someone to death.

When have I ever consumed the most incendiary lies about the US? Please, show us all, or recant your statement.

Since the good ship Bush seems to be sinking now days people that support him just seem to lose it and resort to wild unfounded statements.

    Oh well........

Evidently too complicated for you to understand. That's a real photo. Sorry, you lose.

What's real about it? More details please. Something from Iraq or something staged and presented as real.

I'd like to apologize to those of you that liked this thread. Scott has, yet again, been able to derail a thread and I'm sorry I was involved.

I've asked many times for scott to be banned for his personal attacks and racist comments, but he must be a mod (or in bed with one.) Too bad really, because it's a waste of time.

Scott, are you so think in the head that you can't even see that what you quoted of me disproves your original claim/personal attack?

Just explain your comment. Stop dodging it. What photos were you refering too and do you contend that are real or faked. What's the context of your comment.

Why is it so implausible? Did you read the entire article? It does give some more details. Or maybe you stopped reading after the first paragraph and came here to post your "outrage"

Reading comprehension must have been wasted on you.

The bomb that killed Saleem contained an artillery shell similar to one a suicide bomber used at another green zone checkpoint May 6. A group led by al-Zarqawi claimed responsibility for that attack.
