The only disadvantage I have found is that people are aware of my good taste and preference for superior technology. They also asume I am much better endowed than a normal man and it sucks being a married guy with women hitting on him all day and having to break their hearts.
You make the G5 sound as good as its been touted however I really don't feel people should be hyped into upgrading their computer all the time.
Definitely not. My own computer turns 4 this October. But the G4->G5 is a huge leap, and the G5's architecture is especially well suited to slinging large amounts of data around. In fact, any RAM upgrade to a G5 will result in a noticable speedup if you're pushing the machine.
So once you take that plunge you'll be all set for a good long while, and you'll see a lot less of that beachball.

The Ti Powerbooks are not very appealing to me. Would love to see if the G5's are offered in black and yes plastic!
Why does a Dell look-a-like have more functionality than an aluminum case? A case is a case is a case, and even PC enthusiasts concede that the G5's is as good as they get. The main difference, besides aesthetics, would be that chemically sensitive people would not have to worry about out-gassing from the case (the board, yes, but that can't be helped).

Dems' fighting words!
One of the reason's for my love of apple is the styling and the form factor. My Ti is over 2 years old and still trucking along nicely while still looking pristine.
I have a friend who just got the latest Dell. What a monstrosity that thing is and heavy. Why anyone would choose that thing over an apple laptop is beyond belief.
