Liberal media bias
Here is a typical example of the mainstream media trying to "make the news" rather than report it. These people are fabricating a version of the story to serve their anti Anerican and mostly anti Bush agenda. This is just not correct. Thankfully we have conservative talk radio and internet groups to keep these liars on the run.

I'm still not convinced you're for real, it just seems too pat. Like a conservative talking points bot.

Oh yeah Savage.. talk about biased
Like I said before keep 'em comming
The difference of opinion on the political bias of the main stream media is curious. They have been very anti bush and anti war. They dwell on and even seem to enjoy the problems in Iraq. Many Iraqis are happy with the change despite the trauma on their country. Where are their interviews? The media types labor over the prison abuses, but how many stories have you heard about American soldiers doing good things for the Iraqi people (and you know those examples are abundant). Plain and simplem the main stream media wants GWB out and they will push their stories any way they can to forward that agenda. They seem to have such a vial hatred for this man.
Journalists are 36% leaning toward liberal social policies while remaining middle to right economically . . . that's only 36%!
The overwhelming news presentation, editing and format etc is middle to right leaning economically while liberal socially.
But all that is merely teh noise of content.
The form of media has much more impact socially than anything carried within that media. (McLuhan was right but disregarded the social apparatus of implied commerce relations)
Meaning: the main point that is so often glossed over is the structurally economically-conservative/middle nature of our media and its structrally liberal/middle social nature: It is run on advertizing and mass market appeal, our media thrives on making desireable commodities visible and greasing the wheels of unfettered commerce: that means pandering to the lowest common denominator while refusing to rock the boat . . . regulation and concern for any situation which might hinder the process of commodity desire is detrimental the entire foundation of virtually all of our forms of media . . . the form itself thrives on this irregardless, even, of the content:
Most forms of our media also do the following: they isolate people from actual relationships to one another, and insert a third term of mutual relationship that comes between individuals and their social relationships.
That third term/relationship, is usually the media itself, but in our mediated world it is also the media and its relationship to desire for commodities and goods, and/or, even the whole process of market/consumption
. . . the best example that one can come up with is the nature of this very forum: we come together, and our relationship is mediated by the abstract third term of Mac-fetishism!! our value and identities have become intertwined with a commodity and what it supposedly represents . . .
- -or as Marx says, our Social Relations have become Commodity Relations
(Do we lose our souls thusly?! )

(Hearty applause)
Well said! The commodity underpinnings of American life is the great unspoken organizing principle of not just our desires but our imaginative space as well.
The idea that a truly "liberal" consciousness could flourish within the rigorously commodified arena of national media is sadly implausible.

it is official. you are not for real. the pure genericness in the threads you start is astounding. what's next, a thread titled, "baby killers?' or maybe, "why the Clinton administration is responsible for the economic downturn."
Either that, or you have some f*cked up parents who are insistent on inundating you with their beliefs.

Funny no one ever calls SJO on this (for her topics)...
If anything, we should all be happy to see Common Man come along with his topics to balance out those of SJO.
Also, we shouldn't only be concerned with numbers of one type of media vs. others, but also who seems to speak the loudest (hence, giving the perception of widespread solidarity). That said, I would have to say that would have to be the liberal side, imo.

If SJO started thread after thread like "Conservatives Hate Black People" or "Conservatives Hate Poor People" I'd agree with you. But to my knowledge, none of the liberals/lefties on this board start idiotic threads like that--at least not recently.
You have to keep in mind that the threads Common Man is starting are really on that order.

Well said. I don't have a problem with conservatives (SDW, trumptman et al), I have a problem with ignoramuses, conservative or liberal.

Please, give some examples of his actual post titles. The ones on the front page of this forum seem pretty neutral, yet provocative enough to attract a read.
MODERN MAN
He's too straight and you can wait
Modern man
I've only got time for a few, and not you
Modern man
I'll push you hard, I can't know you
Modern man
'Cause then we'd have to be friends, and that just won't do
Modern man, Modern man
Living tomorrow is everyone's sorrow
Modern man's daydreams have turned into nightmares
It's for you that I sing to share what I feel
Modern Man
The things I need in this world
Modern Man
If you don't like it, you can leave me alone
Modern man, Modern man
'Cause when I talk to you I want to hang up the phone
Modern man, Modern man

I don't know enough about Common Man to defend everything he does. However I see two threads started by him.
Liberal Media Bias
U.N. to blame for war in Iraq
I don't see a thread topic that appears to be spreading hateful, stereotypical lies about the left.
