actually, I live on the border, so I really live in Chevy Chase (not named after the comedian) and thats how my adress works, but I spend most of my time walking around the town in Bethesda, so thats where I claim to live

    I'm about a mile away from D.C.

And about a mile away from the heart of Bethesda

but lets go back to the topic

My First Mac was a IIci with a pivot grayscale monitor so I could see a whole page at a time. It was such a big step up from the family IIgs, and it was all mine.

    Ahhhh....My first Mac.

Anyway....My ex-wife had run off with my PC while I was at work one day, and the entire time I had it, all I could think of was that I should have got one of those COOL iMacs that came out in the wonderful colors...I regretted not doing that even though I really had no idea that there was a difference.

Her stealing my computer left me with the ability to go out and justify the purchase of the iMac that I wanted...I got the indigo iMac with FW. After taking it home and getting it set-up in about five minutes I was in love...The little things added up quickly and iTunes was simply incredible. I have since moved that to the sons room. I have gone through an iBook, and it wasn't quite fast enough, then I went to the FP iMac. I have rid myself of that for my current 12" PB, and am getting a 23" display for that here next week. Then I will get a G5 by January and call it good for a while...

But, OSX simpy rocks! 9 was horrible IMO. Alas, that is my Mac memory....

    No.

I think the first Mac I ever used was a Plus. It didn't have the clunky keyboard of the 125/512 so it must have be a Plus.

They need our sympathy, not mockery.

My first Mac was a Performa 6300, with Apple's stingy 8MB stock RAM. The upgrade to 24MB made that thing fly. The spare bits now form a complete computer and live in the attic, awaiting a conversion.

The RAM as eventually upgraded again to 48MB. Then I put a 5400/180 motherboard in it but downgraded the RAM to 16MB (pesky 5V DIMMs), requiring PSU fiddling to get the 3.3V supply that the PCI board needed.

    Further upgrades (mostly from eBay):
    • Voodoo 3 PCI

    • USB PCI card

    • Proper 6400 tower case so I can fit all of the PCI cards in.

    • 2x64MB DIMMs (136MB RAM, so I can run OS X 10.1 )

    • TV tuner

    • G3/400

It's surprsingly fast and stable. The only problem is that modern software (iTunes 4, modern browsers, etc.) doesn't run on 8.6.

My first Mac was an LCIII back when I was in the third grade. It was a great little computer. I played sim city on it for hours at a time. My cousins would come over and we would play with the system's recording and speech functions. it was great fun.

My first Mac wasn't a Mac at all. It was an Apple //c. I loved that baby! I bought it with my own money that I saved up by working at Winn Dixie when I was in high school... back in 19 and 86...

We went from an original Pong machine when they came out, then to the standard Commodore 64 and the Ti-95, and then we went to the big time an Atari 800. I think I melted that machine!

Then back in the mid 90's when they came out, I bought a Performa 6115CD. I don't even know where that thing is anymore. Then I bought a G3 Wallstreet Powerbook. I still got it and it is for sale with a bunch of stuff with it, if anyone is interested.

I honestly can't remember when I first used a mac, but the very first mac I bought myself was a Performa 630.

I remember doing a color flyer in 300 dpi that I actually had to make in three separate pieces because the file was to heavy tp process... in photoshop 2.5.1.. hehe...
