My bad, you're right - new displays... but also the Geforce 6800 "Ultra DDL". If you're willing to shell out an additional $500 over the stock 5200...

That's the GPU you have to have if you want the 30 inch bad boy. Two DVI lines to drive the display

And you know there will be more features as well.

We are probably looking at more like 18-24 month upgrade cycles now.

Exactly. The new search technology alone will put them way ahead of anything out there.

Devs will be able to tie into the new isync stuff, widgets, etc as well as making sure that there software is compatible with Tiger. Panther had a few issues in that regard.

I would imagine that something else will happen after Tiger depending on MS and longhorn. If MS stays with 2006 release, Apple could steal their thunder just before or just after.

It would be fun to be a fly on the wall in Redmond today.

As I recall, 10.3.5 is supposed to be a fairly major update

Well, here's the deal. I think Panther was rushed by a few weeks when it initially came out, so I hope the extra time gives Apple enough time to make it run smooth. Plus, we might even be able to somehow ask for features and bug fixes!

I am quite content to wait for now, as Panther is doing me fine. This will show how good Panther really is.

    My $0.02. m.
