Having watched his OS X features video before i bought my first ever Apple product (a 15" PowerBook), i think Omar should be Apple's spokesperson in Jobs' absence
Given his previous keynotes, Schiller's performance will be poorly paced and over emphasized using 'amazing' and 'incredible' too often.
Shorter me: I don't like his presentation style.
Screed
As if SJ doesn't use those terms over and over again in his presentations? I believe you're thinking more about those silly testimonial and boring introduction films made for Mac Expos that tell the converted how wonderful the new gizmo is.
I'd vote for Christopher Walken to do the Keynote.
"I've had this iMac prototype in my ass for over a year and now I am here to present it to you"
Yeah, I second the choice for Christopher Walken. I can see it now:
"I've got a feva, and the only cure...is more iMacs."
LOL
But seriously, I'll do it. And hey, I'm in shape too, so I wont block the webcast view of the iMac with my gut, like Schiller will, when one ascends from the floor.
How about Jeff Goldblum? Doesn't he still do voice overs for Apple commercials?
My vote is still on Frank, the guy that gave Jobs a dead digi-cam at one of those keynotes a year or so ago. They still have him locked up in a cage under Jobs' desk you know.
I'd rather see Pixar render a Nemo keynote. Phil's appearances at Steve's keynotes always seem really over-rehearsed and poorly executed, like he stood in front of a mirror for hours the night before repeating his emphasis on how great such and such products are. No doubt though Steve is gonna make a surprise pop-up on an on-stage screen from his iSight.
I'm afraid that term has been trademarked by Dr. Phil.
Now there's an idea for a keynote -- an episode of Dr. Phil! You get Dr. Phil to tell a Windows user, a Linux user and a Napster user why they are stupid, lazy, fat and cheap. Switching to Macs (and iPods/iTMS) will demonstrate strength, wisdom and personal growth. An unusual format to be sure, but if you want a PhilNote, that's how it's gonna have to be.
I attended last year's AppleExpo keynote in person but will not be able to make it to Paris this year. And I can not find any hints on Apple's website whether there was a live stream, an on-demand webcast or nothing of that sort at all.
Will this year's keynote be webcast/streamed? I would sure hope so if the new iMacs were to be introduced.
Comments
christopher walken is a damn fine nomination, in my book.
though, trey parker and matt stone could easily make the most memorable, hilarious, offensive keynote known to mankind.
I bet she could draw the largest Apple keynote audience ever.
Schiller will do a fine job.

I think it's obvious that Noah Wyle will have to reprise his role as Steve Jobs.
Damn you! Beat me to it...

No, no, no...think Amelio!
Gil! Gil! Gil!
Hey, Gil's the one who made the decision to buy NeXT in the first place... imagine where we'd be if he hadn't done that.

OMFG!!!
"I hid this uncomfortable hunk of white plastic* up my ass two years."
*subsitute with chameleon plastic or brushed metal if the iMac sports one of these two materials

So will his keynote also be called a "PhilNote"?

That's just the funniest vision I've had for ages. Genius
I've snooshed tea all over my keyboard.
