I Have Obtained Ive's Most Confidential Sketches!

Posted:
in Future Apple Hardware edited January 2014
I can not say how I have come in to possession of the first drafts of what will be the new iMac G5. This is an exclusive first look at the design of the iMac G5, and I can assure you that it is legit. It may not be on the message boards for too long, as it will be probable that Apple will order a legal cease and desist over these sketches.

PS. These sketches are the same ones that this forum alluded to having possession of earlier in July.

Enjoy.

These are the first drafts of Ive's work, done in graphite, brainstormed and brought straight from his mind to the paper. The actual design may very SLIGHTLY from these photos. I have a close relatioship with the source of these photos, it took many months of heavy persuasion tactics before he relented and let me have them.

Okay, so they contradict everything that's been leaked before.

Okay, so they look a little... odd. (Docking display and CPU? Interesting concept, but...)

That little dongle on the left side of the CPU slab has me intrigued. Obviously has an eject button next to it. Doubt it's a PCCard slot... iPod dock?

From what I can gather, I too think it may be an iPod dock.

I'm not saying the sketches are real... I think you might have been punked, but it's an interesting design with some neat elements.

No, I can assure you, it is definitely Jonathan Ive's design. I know you dont want to look like a fool and take me at my word, I would be suspicious too, but this is the real deal.

I have a few more details about it, if you would like to ask, I might be able to help.

I bet he loves you now Great way to prove that you are thrustworthy

Kidding aside, allthough this looks interesting, I cant really see why Apple would make such a product.

And if you look at the first picture, the screen is clearly mounted on the pizza box, but on the second picture, bottom left corner, the screen slides into the box.

Id rather see apple implement the next iMac as a small pizza box in a 1.5 U enclosure, small enough to be rackmounted and used with XGrid

Buy 2 iMacs to double your throughput...

My ideal computer is has a small footprint, yet a powerful single CPU, firewire, ethernet, bluetooth, wifi, usb 2, and optional superdrive. Oh and no screen attached.

I seriously never upgrade my computers. I use them for about 3 years and replace them. I dont even upgrade my graphics card. Only think Ive ever upgraded is memory and modem (back in the days).

I've been told that the screen is removeable. And remember, these are some of the first sketches, so it's all brainstorming which is the loosest form of design that there is. It was never meant to be seen by the masses. Quite a catch, wouldnt you say?

    Haha, fuck-faces..

Remember, don't spread this around...if Apple were to see this, I may be in deep trouble...this is Jonathan Ive's greatest design ever...and it has leaked here!!! EXCLUSIVE READ ALL ABOUT IT.

Besides your tremendous drawing skills, you also have an unbelievable grasp of the English vocabulary. Great come back.

He's just trying to pass this drawing off as his own. The post above I made was done so because, well, I didnt think anyone would believe me anymore so that "fuck-face" comment was just me faking embarassment and dealing with the situation that way.

Didn't read the whole thread, and I hope someone pointed this out, because these sketch are complete bullsh*tt. Ives doesn't draw that bad. He is a very competent draftsman.

It looks like a monkey with hemorroids drew that.

Chris, you've got the makings of a supreme Batman villain.

Were you thinking people don't cross between the two sites, and somehow cobble together that the guy being all earnest at the other place was the same one shoveling crap over here in Future Hardware.

Adjust your dosage, or seek help.

These are some 5 minute drawings by Dominic, my friend, who got a little bit annoyed by the criticism of his iMac mock up. Now, the thing is, he knows nothing about computers or Apple Computer. These drawings were made from him just looking at a picture of each of the people he drew, I then gave him guidence about what to put in the text bubbles.

Enjoy, and Applenut, you needed a little ribbing.

Jobs in his hospital bed. (Notice Intel Inside on his IV)

Ive loving the Messiahtosh iMac design, Schiller thinking about the usual...
