Hello everybody, and thanks for the latest contributions. The only thing one is able to comment regarding the new iMac, is probably design. I bet... some dollars that it's able to perform also.
Got back my Powerbook to day The repair-people also belived it vas a problem with the fans and the motherboard... but it was not It was the hard drive all the time!
So I payd $50 for a check-up and cleaning of the fans, took it back home, and installed a Hitachi 60 GB HD 7200 rpm in 30 minutes
Now I'm about to format it, and I have made sure the machine is able to boot fro disks again.
I have nothing bad to say about apple since the last drive only lasted 20 months or so. I have all this time loaded and unloaded about 10 to 12 GB pr week, so I have pushed it to the max I think. Well thanks all, something good came out of this. I did' not have to buy a new machine, but I got a twice as fast hard drive in my beloved TiBook.
