Funny your problem only frustrates me more.

Here at work we are slowly, but gaining speed in replacing Apple computers with Windows machines.

Now of all things, my department will end be forced into changing to Windows due to the ubiquity of Access, just because there is one person that knows how to set up quick simple databases in Access and another person who knows zip about database programing somehow now has the pull to force the issue. There will be no comparisons, the most capable person to make the decision, the IT manager, will be ignored and we will charge on, with absolutely no regard to the future ramifications of these decisions. Basically the decision has been made and to hell with what's best for the company or any individual department.

Forget that they probably won't be able to make the program user friendly and economize the amount of entries required, probably won't even ask for our input before designing the database. Forget that it won't interface easily, if at all, with our Omnis database programs.

rant over have a nice day
