I NEED some of those for playoff time. One of my friends (and co-workers) is from North Jersey and is a big yankees fan. His birthday is coming up, and it would be perfect. Plus, I tend to side with the Yanks in the playoffs when against the Sox, given that I spent 5 years in New Jersey. It's not NYC, but they still get the games on TV.

What do we shoot you guys with, crab juice?

When was the last time "Dodgers fan killed by Giants fan" made headlines? Maybe in the Candlestick days?

If you're thinking Antenorcruz last year, he was buried with Giants paraphernalia. What was truly retarded was that the local media originally had the story reversed.

    Proof:

At Live Oak Cemetery, a Giants flag sent by the team covered Antenorcruz's coffin. Antenorcruz, whose nicknames were "Mac," "Bug Eyes" and "Bozo," became a Giants fan while attending school in the Bay Area.

Besides, I'm wasn't talking about murderers. I'm just talking about the mentality of the pack.

In Dodger Stadium, the chant du jour is "Barry sucks!" or "Giants suck!"

In PacBell, it's "Beat LA!" not "Gagne sucks!" or Dodgers suck!"

In PacBell, the most common disruption would be a fan with a glove going for a ball still in play down the line or at the outfield wall, or doing some other kind of Bartman impression. On the flipside, in Dodger Stadium, pivotal moments of important games are ruined when a beachball lands on the field for the umpteenth time. Napkin parachutes are a close second. Last year the most original annoyance was when the tentative 2004 schedules were released on "Team Poster Night" and fans in the bleachers started making poster sized gliders to throw at Barry. Heh, that game was exactly 1 year ago today.

You wouldn't be saying that if you lived in NY. A lot of "Yankee fans", not the real ones like applenut, the ones that are just frontrunners are totally obnoxious and ridiculous.

I have spent plenty of time in NY and Boston. That is, more time than constitutes as "just visiting."

One of the biggest Yankees fans I've known was a guy from the southwestern corner of Massachusetts. Go figure.

I didn't think there was anything there.
