Here comes their push for subscription music. Of course you need to throw out all your mp3's. Worked real well for Sony, didn't it?

Steve: It seems we have no chance to compete on merit with the iPod or iTunes.
Bill: I'll work on getting Windows to generate some nice erratic behavior when connecting an iPod or running iTunes but I need some time.
Steve: Ooh! Great idea! I'll start name calling and casting aspersions about the iPod and its users.
You have to give consumers what they want.
- Consumers have lots of MP3s. So give them an MP3 player.
- Consumers like pretty things. So give them pretty products.
Apple have done this, nobody else has. Add in the iTunes store and I can't see Microsoft touching them.
I could see Apple making real inroads with the new iMac if only it was cheaper, and if they were more game friendly. So close.

What an idiot. MS can't compete, so we'll just slag it. Great strategy.
------
Lets not talk about the iPod here, if we are going to talk about stolen copyright, why don't we discuss the fact that very few Windows users pay for the software they run their daily lives by?
Which, in turn absolutely shafts those that Ballmer made a fool of himself saying were the most important people at one of his previous conferences...

Lets not forget that this is also the guy who slated Apple's campaign for the iMac which encouraged users to "Rip, Mix, Burn", because he misunderstood what "Rip" meant.
The man is consistently silly and incredibly out of touch with what people want as is the continual trend with MS.

Twat is indeed an apt word.
