I wonder what the prices are if the specs are nearly the same...and if the vram is upgraded and AE are built in...I'm skeptical on the 12" spec, no one in the industry uses 30gb drives anymore...i can't see 30gb HD's being available until the end of another product cycle....
Dell uses them in their 12" widescreen laptop (700m I think?).
I'm sure there are plenty of companies still using them for laptops and embeded applications.
[edit] sorry MCQ, didn't get to your post until after I replied. sometimes I pull the trigger too early! [/edit]
Of course, I'm more interested in a bump to the gfx, and a price drop...
*YAWN* What a crap update... Total utter disappoinment.
Seems as though my source was relaible. : )
Apple updates their hardware, for better price and increased features, and it rates an utter disappointment. First, keep in mind they didn't have a big roll-out, so what were you expecting, laptops that would hover above your lap? sub-$500 laptops with G5s and expandable 30" screens? Please, tell us.
The new iBooks are a good deal, but the biggest mistake was not moving to the GeForce Go5200 video chip. That one addition, making the new iBooks fully CoreImage compliant, would have made them perfect.

Yup...it's the only reason why I've decided not to buy the iBook.

I'm so discreet. But the new machines are already up on this reseller's Web site!

Disappointing they still have 32 MB video cards, though... m.
