I like Safari's interface polish and bookmark organization more than Firefox. Firefox feels like a Windows app running on the Mac, not a lot of drag-drop support, etc. Although this might have changed in 1.0.

I agree. Although I use firefox on all of my non-mac computers, compared to safari it feels very "windowish". The tabs are larger, even with the bluemodern theme it still doesn't "feel" as nice a safari. I know that's very subjective, but hey.
I used to love pithelmet, but i found that with the most recent apple update and the latest version of pthhelmet there are confilcts so I had to get rid of it.
As much as i hate ads (especially the Apple Insider Flash ones) but they are what makes these wonderful servies free. By blcoking them, you are being BAD internet citizens. It is people like you gues who make sites with good stuff start charging.
There is a limit of course. Pop-ups are different and stuff like spam and adware is unacceptable.

I mute the TV during commercials and switch the car radio too. Bad citizen? Advertisers pay for the opportunity to present themselves to the customer. That doesn't mean that we have to open the door for the guy with the vacuum cleaner.

You don't have to open it but if you never even so much as check to see who it is and mention you aren't interested you're pretty down right rude. He's just doing his job.

It is just too buggy right now. I cant even copy and paste within my favorite message board.
In the trash it goes and its back to safari in the hopes that Apple can fix the damn thing.
sheesh
You may have an old schema lying around. Try closing FireFox and deleting your ~/Library/Application Support/FireFox directory and restart FireFox.

Adblock isn't about blocking popup windows, it's about blocking inline ads from appearing...
And PithHelmet works like a charm for that.
