now what could a company like that want with a machine like an Xserve? and in the 'home products' area as well.
i suspect that said machine is in a thousands pieces now surrounded by a gaggle of white coated engineers all scratching their heads saying 'shit, this is *amazing*. why can't i work for a company that does *this* level of quality products?'. the other engineers all in the room all sigh in unison.

No no no... they wear those bunny suits 24/7 just like in the ads.
We know from the past that the PR-folks at Intel uses Macs to make all sorts of publications from manuals, handbooks, webpages and printed ads. Hell.. they've even had Macs shown on pictures on their web site (until some egghead told them about it so they could remove them .
But, this seems to be something else. They might just be looking into the kompetition? It'd be wrong not to.
Interestingly enough, it's also the greek transliteration for "I like to hear myself talk and get lots of attention."
bunch of BS

Hey man, it's a free world and you are entitled to your ignorance. Only the Mods and I will know where this IP is for this post.
I don't think this machine is being used for any marketing stuff. They really don't have much of that here. And I don't really think that they are looking at the guts of it in this place. It just doesn't really fit with what else goes on here, especially in the home products area. Keep speculating, since I don't know I would love to have more ideas of what they might be doing. And I'll see if I can find out for sure.

<strong>Sorry, not AMD. I really didn't intend this thread to be a guessing game as to who has the thing.
