if my counting is correct.. than we still need 5 more cat names. I can only think of Lion, cougar, and Leopard. what other ones are there? (besides Puma, Cheetah, Jaguar, Panther, and Tiger)

yea but do u really see any of the ones that i didnt list as being the name of a version of mac os x? example.. Mac OS 10.8 -"kodkod" i just dont see it happening
Lynx would be a good one but there are too many other products by that name - a web browser, a range of men's toiletries, a courier company, amongst others.
I think Lion would be good for 10.5, but I think Apple will abandon the cat names at 10.6. Maybe go to something like Mac OS X 10.6 Giraffe, Gorilla, Poison Dart Frog or Mallard Duck.
In all seriousness, I see Lion for 10.5 and then something else totally for 10.6 - quite possible moving into fish or birds. Mac OS X Eagle or Falcon or Swordfish would be cool.

Precedent ("Jagwire") suggests that that group of people would not include Steve Jobs.
Puma - been done
Cheetah - been done
Jaguar, Panther and Tiger - all been done too
