having said the above we will have to wait now for reports to come in on, for starters, a ichat video on Tiger <---> ichat video on Tiger to see how G4-class machines handle the iChat side of h.264 "realtime encoding and decoding"... coz i personally will be pissed if you need a G5 to see that much-touted h.264 benefit for like a 320x240 pixels two-way webchat

Wow, the 720p stuff plays fine on my DP1250, the 1080 almost does. My computer isn't obsolete yet, yay

Just a stock Radeon 9000, but now that I look at it, it isn't really that smooth, only the 1024x576 works well.

    Some framerates:

    24/24 fps on Batman 576

    12/24fps on Batman 1080

    15/30 fps on NASA 720

Yeah I can pull some benchmarks Mon/Tues. once I get to the office. At home my 450 Cube, well I won't even attempt but at work I have a Digital Audio Power Mac @ 1.33 GHz / 1.5 GB RAM and a Radeon 9800. We shall see.
