I had to reinstall my system. My old iTunes files are not working with iTunes 4.8. It says I have to reauthorize them? I have to do this for each song?! wtf?

Unless you've bought music under multiple iTMS account, reauthorizing once should be sufficient for everything you have. At most you should only need to authorize once for each different account you've used for your purchases -- iTunes won't ask you to reauthorize, however, until the first time you try to play a song associated with a particular account.
first off, itunes 4.8 is finally in SU, but also, why can't i preview videos in iTMS? i double click the video track, and it just kinda sits there and the playtime bar just goes nuts.
Yes, finally. It finally came up last night. I got my new Power Mac (first Mac) setup late Wednesday night and when I first fired up iTunes it asked if I wanted to install it. Since I was more interested in playing with my new Mac, I told iTunes to remind me later. Bad move.
Can you tell me what you were viewing? I've tried music videos and movie trailers from the iTMS.
Sure!
I downloaded the large-size rollerskating iPod ad ( http://www.apple.com/ipod/ads/rollerskating/640.html ), added it using drag & drop to iTunes, hit play, it opened up in a separate window (as per my preference), but the full screen button was enabled. So i clicked it, and there you go.
Performance was unacceptable, but that's just the extremely old machine I'm on here.
iTunes 4.8 seems like Safari 1.3 to me. It has some subtle new features with some changes under the hood. These changes were probably backports from iTunes 5.0. If you recall the time between Safari 1.3 and 2.0 in Tiger, its possible that iTunes 5.0 is right around the corner. 8)
With all the talk of iTunes Video Store and AirPort Extreme AV, WWDC doesn't seen out of line.

The ability to play and download music videos? There are other minor changes too, like a little button in the artwork pane.

It definitely isn't only H.264, have you got QuickTime 7 installed?

Yeah, I'm using Quicktime 7 on Tiger. So I should be able to just click play on a movie in my iTunes library and it should play?

Thanks, at least it's not MicroSoft.

Has anyone actually gotten the fullscreen button to work?
Yup, works fine for me on Windows 2000.
