New version of GoLive?

Anybody have the inside scoop on when it's going to be released, if it will be carbon (I'd be very surprised if it wasn't!) and what are the new and improved features...? I use it all the time and it's a bit of a dog, so I'd like to know what's being addressed just for my own peace of mind...

    Why so excited over GoLive? Dreamweaver would be news... GoLive is an Adobe-Dumbed-down HTML toy. If Adobe could make GoLive as open and user configurable as Dreamweaver and HALF as powerful, it'd be a usefull add-on. But untill then it's an expencive toy.

    Yeah, maybe, but it's what I use to earn a living. I've used both Dreamweaver and GoLive, the both have pluses and minuses, and I happen to prefer GoLive. Simple. So anybody have anything *constructive* about GoLive?

    Golive's portable site management is about 1000 times more usefull than the half ased atempt in Dreamweaver, you cant edit Flash links or create Quicktime stuff in Dreamweaver ether.

    p.s. The latest builds of GL5 rock, if you liked it before & use other Adobe apps you will love it now. (under NDA so can't say any more)

    I use both Dreamweaver and GoLive, and they both are good, but I really like the Adobe interface better AND the site management in GoLive is much better.

    The only thing I use Dreamweaver for anymore is a few things with tables that I like better than in GoLive.

    Unfortunately, I haven't heard anything about the new GoLive. Hopefully some news soon.

    For those interested, Freeway 3.5 will be out for OS X next month. It's a truely beautiful webdesign program that produces some of the cleanest code around, and it's Mac only!!

    I look forward to the X version of GoLive. However I continue to use v 4 because 5 constantly crashes in 9. And yes, I turned off NavServices. I totally prefer GL's interface to DW. Yet I fear how Adobe will further develop and care for GL as their history with some other apps has been dismal.

    cool... i´ll check it out. as for golive: i hope someday the app will render a cleaner scripting code. right now it´s TERRIBLE!!! pages of ugly script-bloatware for simple rollovers? yuk. that´s why i made my own script templates, and now everytime i need some neato cleano javascript i´ll do copy+paste it into the golive doc.

    The cool thing about Freeway is that you can write a javascript in simpletext, save it and put it in the plugins folder. It then instantly becomes an javescript plugin - very cool. Do check it out - you'll be amazed.

    Not only that - custumor support is unbelievable. just mail your problem and you usually get a reply with 24 hrs!

    Hey Arbernaut. You guys at pixelsurgeon rock. I check you out for news a couple of times a day.

    Im also eagerly awaiting a carbon version of GoLive and dreamweaver for that fact. The sooner we can have all the heavy weight apps the better. Lets hope Golive 6.0 or whatever they call it, is an improvement over 5.0 which is buggy. I've gone back to 4.0 for the moment.

    Think Secret just posted a new article on GoLive 6.0. Looks pretty nice and is trying to compete not only with Dreamweaver, but also UltraDev and SiteSpring. Check it out at <a href="http://www.thinksecret.com/features/golive6/"; target="_blank">http://www.thinksecret.com/features/golive6/</a>;

    Cool! Now we're talking!

    Some of the interface elements look like they need a damn good tweak, but if those are real screenshots, it looks like Adobe are on the right track! :eek:
