i really hope apple is on the cutting edge of intel hardware, including EMI or whatever that BIOS replacement is...hopefully we'll be seeing firewire target and the such stick around because that has gotten me out of a jam many a time
You obviosuly never seen many modern PCs, have you?!
My Fujitsu laptop and Intel board based PC desktop don't have what you're refering to as "ugly BIOS screen".
They have an animated graphic picture much like MACs. In fact Intel board allows me to put any picture I want as the BIOS splash screen.
Phoenix and Award make most of BIOS chips and software for Intel x86 boards. Apple can easily get a custom BIOS done through them just like any other PC company.

They question is how the intel based Macintosh
will boot into Tiger or Leopard. Will we see
that ugly (intel) BIOS screen? *Cringe*

Thank you for clarification. What about the other
issues regarding FW Target mode etc? Apple will
keep these functions, won't they? Personally
i don't believe they will drop FW Target mode, because
it is so widespread and such an Macintosh uberfunction. imho.
cheers
