Looks like Apple is really serious about getting this next release right.
I was pulling up Software Update when I clicked on this thread and saw your post. It definitely sounds like they are serious about punching out the bugs. Let's just hope that it is truly solid when we get it. I can wait.
Yet it will still suck horribly for some people. Just you watch.
I think the reason it is slower than Panther for me is that I did an upgrade on a system that I had done a ton of stuff to (trying every new app or "tweak" I could since it is my first Mac - and I just cant stand to leave any gadget in stock trim ) so come the 15th when my class is done, it is wipe and reinstall time...YAY
Turns out that Apples stock trim is pretty damn great...

That's awesome news. I think this release is going to be a very big milestone for Tiger (whenever it's released

Most people come round here to bitch and moan that x feature doesn't work correctly, when you should really take your complaints to Apple.
I generally avoid forums such as this one after the release of software updates for Apple because it's just one big bitch fest.

Anytime you gauge a release by the feedback on a forum, you're in for trouble. How many people are going to drop by and say "I updated, it's great!"?

I don't mind it here so much. But I avoid Macintouch like the plague. Doesn't matter when it was released over there.

I'm Jealous. Even when I add another Gig I'll still be 1/2 a gig short.
