I've tried it a few times and I'd have to say it's better than napster in that it allows all types of downloads, all of which seem to happen pretty quickly.
It's this sorta self organizing P2P network thing that can't be shut down..
It's a Peer to Peer filesharing program (Read: an application for pirating software/music). There is a popular clone of it on the PC called "Morpheus" and I hear they're making a Mac version.
The lack of one, however, is NOT "hurting the platform". The inability to pirate copyrighted material shouldn't have anything to do with the platforms marketshare.
Besides, I know of plenty of other ways to do "filesharing". FTP, HTML, Gopher, just to name a few. I guess the problem is they don't make it easy to steal people's hard work
What are you talking about? Piracy is huge. Anything that they can do (good or evil) that we can't is hurting the platform.

So if someone figures out how to make Anthrax using Windows XP and a floppy drive we should get these features on the new iMacs?

It's just another popular app that the Mac doesn't have.
half of those programs either don't work, are hard to use, and hard to get files you are looking for. And screw the MPAA and RIAA.

Yeah its a pity that you'd actually have to work hard to get bootlegged material. Screw the artists and filmmakers too, right?
I use Limewire, its fine. It crashed maybe twice. i always find what I'm looking for. If you want mac software then just use Carracho and look for servers on tracker-tracker.com.

2) a statement that you're too selfish to giv eup a little of your own value to get another sort
I don't agree with it either way. I pay my shareware fees and I paid for my entire 4 days worth of CD music.

Now if only the mac had a convenient way to do it!
To which I reply:
Carracho, Hotline, Limewire, Aimster, Macster, Napster (R.I.P) and the soon to be released Morpheus clone for the mac.
Isn't THAT enough for you little pirating bastards?
Which I guess means that it fits in well with the rest of the internet....

Yes there's a lot of pron on Kazaa, but not that much.
Well, I guess we shouldn't turn this into a piracy debate....so instead I'll turn it into a "there's not enough mac apps" debate.

Where did you find out about this mac version of morpheus?
All the good apps are dead and all the rest suck.

I find Limewire pretty slow.
