    Nightstalker??

I'm thinkin Zander was just blustering. I've seen his stage style and it's more agressive than your typical CEO. I could easily see him saying "screw the nano" as a form of chest thumping bravado. Jobs won't take it personal..Zander is a standup guy who's very outgoing but that's not going to come across in text clearly.

Zander has just realized what the collaboration with Apple was all about.

Apple wants to build their own smartphone, but felt they needed to learn more about the process and build relationships with suppliers and carriers.

The partnership with Moto allowed them to do this, and the recent Palm crossover to Windows means they have to provide a Mac compatible solution relatively fast.

Since Jobs made his observations about smartphones superceding the PDA, the smartphone has matured to become a device primarily about voice and email access.

I hope Apple solution allows you to sync with Tiger's mail program, so you can get a complete view of all your messages in one place.

I thought I was the only one who thought a good 3" screen was viewable.

BTW why does that T-mobile thing have TWO camera's ... that is pretty geeky, but the market is going there once the price is under $350.

I can't believe no one has mentioned this, but...

Verizon Wireless offer's VCAST service. I don't have the service in my area, BUT:

I have an LG VX8100 mobile phone with a miniSD card slot. I have several full-length movies on my 512mb flash card, and some other videos I've encoded. Quicktime exports straight to 3GPP2 format, which is what my phone reads. Its really cool to have a lot of this content right on my phone, and the small screen doesnt bother me at all.....

I can't agree more with you about the need for a Mac compatible solution from Apple. Man have I been bit%$%ng about this for the last few months...

As a Mac user, I feel like I'm getting isolated by the amount of product choice I have in the cell phone/pim market since iSync is barely a decent syncing application (as I have mentioned in other posts, it can sync contacts and adress/phone book decently, but I can't take full advantage of the full features of the device since I can't install certain (or any) additional apps on a device w/ iSync and all the solutions from Nokia/S-Ericsson, Moto are only Windows compatible). Now with Palm gone to Windows-M, we can only hope for a solution from Apple.

Otherwise, Apple is isolating customers and fans like me (and making the windows side of windows + windows mobile look very very appealing) saying "we don't care about how you want to manage your to do list/contacts/calendar on the go, we just care that you see them and use them at your Mac - the place where I'm not 50% of the time!!!!!) COMON APPLE, YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!

Yeah, it has two cameras: one on the reverse side for taking photos, the other next to the display for video chats. How f**ing cool is that?

It costs 350 euros here in Germany, and that's only with a T-Mobile service plan. That's the crap I don't like about the smartphones PDA. I never want to be locked into a particular carrier.
