That's funny. SO Apple is having to reverse-engineer the AIM protocol? I thought that wasn't supposed to happen because they had an official partnership with AOL. Pff. I knew it was merely paper. That's why iChat has the same incompatibilities that the others do. I don't care whose fault it is though. I just want ONE client that works. I hope either someday iChat fits that bill, or as market-share increases AOL updates AIM. They have to realize that it is in their best interest anyway since the others don't sport those damn ads.

Where are you getting that? Apple doesn't have to reverse-engineer anything...they get full access to AOLIM's OSCAR protocol. There's no reverse-engineering needed and there's zero compatibility issues...what compatibility issues are you getting?
