What does everybody think of the Apple+ Intel ad?

I think its got real style and punch!

It reminds me of 2001 . A Space Odyssey and the birth of a new Intelligence etc (as long as the mac doesn't turn into HAL ). To me it's real slick. I hope they broadcast it mainstream here in the UK. It should wake up those poor windows users to the Mac.

Keep it up Steve, I can see a big switch coming.

I wonder how people will take it. I mean, it really doesn't matter that they're using Intel - it should be transparent to users, and in fact might even be a negative if some software doesn't run through Rosetta. Maybe people will think Macs will run Windows now. And who knows, maybe they will.

It reminded me of an Openheimer Fund ad.

I only have on very small caveat, I think they should have said Macintosh instead of just Mac.

That was completely underwhelming. Cool slick look, but doesn't do anything for me.

I'm not crazy about it. There was a self-serving "Aren't Intel lucky to have us?" thing about it that isn't exactly warranted. It's not like Apple didn't need them just as much.

All commercials are self-serving by nature, but this seemed a bit ego-centric for a partnership.

it's so freaking annoying. Apple's arrogance in their advertising is so stupid, and, well, annoying. It's just so high-school to call the competition "..dull little..." That commercial basically comes off like the bad guy in one of those movies where the bad guy always demeans the good guy.

Well I think to any windows viewer watching the ad. The Ad is basically saying- "if you're thinking intel PC's are good - you need to check out Apple". Its provocative but I think that's what Apple needs to do. It needs to challenge conventional thought.

I have a lot of friends who just don't get why Apple Macs are so good. They like to stick with windows and muddle through. They just dont seem to get past Apples price tag. So I think a bit of goading is needed to get windows users to look at Apple to compare.

It will be interesting when the mainstream apps are native intel; how the Mac compares to a PC regarding performance of each app.

When was the last time any company document referred to Macintosh? I think it has just been shortened to Mac, it caught on and one sylable is more catchy and memorible too.

A: this is only the first ad.

    B. this is the same marketing dept that has locked 80% of the MP3 player morket, me thinks they know what they are doing.

Where did you hear that from? It is generally said,

that the intel ship is freed from dull little tasks.

Very generally (and hopefully a whee bit ironically)

spoken. No specific competitor in mind. That's all about it.

Apple is proudly celebrating its new partnership with intel.

    And that's it.

that ad just reflects the essence of what steve always wanted, a culture.

there can be no culture without a counter culture , someone to fight against, to measure yourself up against.

its how he made this companny be what it is, us against them.

i like the commercial except for the ending.

it kinda just "introducing the new imac with intel"

maybe it was sutherlands voice that ended it weird.

I think that ad is crazy. I like the part when they say its been trapped in little dull boxs, because its true. Apple has hit again. I also like the saying on there site.

"Whats a intel chip doing in a Mac? A whole more then it's ever done in a PC.

I think apple is going to be very happy with there switch to intel.

it's a smart add and no mention of the former cpu, no comparisons etc etc. That keeps it all positive

I think it's great, I've already watched it multiple times. I think Apples advertising is some of the best I've ever seen out of any industry, but especially with computers.

digg.com is blowing up because of this ad.

PC and Mac fanboys are at each other's necks about the switch. On a good day, Dell doesn't get this much publicity. lol.
