I got on irc.appleinsider.com and found a channel there with some very experienced macintosh users.
I now have OSX nicely installed (3gb+ free after) and OS9.2.2 installed so I can use classic mode in OSX or reboot into it. That ate up another 500mb or so. Works very fast, in fact, much faster than OS9 and it's not slow at all.
My girlfriend is very happy with it!
