At this point, I think its best we put aside this discussion for the philosophers...

And he's libertarian too, so he's always right.

As far as the original post in this thread asking for a "lossless" music store.. I don't really hear the difference between lossless and 320kbps mp3 and I used to edit talk radio sketches (obviously I edited in wave, but I'd share via web with my superiors in 320 mp3).

I use All Of mp3.com for my music.. it's barely legal but I get songs at 320kbps mp3 (yes, 320 mp3) for about one to three cents per megabyte (~$.33 each). And yes, it IS legal but I'm sure it wont be in a few years as the RIAA is fighting it quietly.

I would prefer to use iTMS (as it's faster and more convenient than allofmp3's http downloading) but the DRM is bothersome and the quality is LOW, even for the crappy speakers I'm forced to use in my studio apartment (spent $500 on speakers then moved out of a house and had to use computer speakers ).

It's nice to know that the music I download from allofmp3 I actually OWN and I can use it as I please.. I can't give it to anybody [legally...], but I can put it on any computer anywhere and I can stop using itunes at any time if they piss me off WITHOUT losing all my purchased songs (because they wont play), any quality (due to trans-coding to make them play), or any hard drive space (by saving in wave).
