    Well, how about you take a look at the effort that has gone into Virtual PC, then add in the manhours devoted to WINE, and that might get you in the ballpark of something that would be horrendous to use.



    (And the phrase is 'for all intents and purposes', not 'intensive purposes'.)

    Sorry unintentional!, but vpc is running trying to run an entire OS on top, and wine is tackling the problem(dll's) one app at a time. Granted, emulation was always required under PowerPC (although NT did indeed run on it), but under Intel the task of doing this is only a matter of time. Rumours of Transitive providing a solution is in the works would more than likely require apple's blessing, that or VMWare's virtual machine.

    How hard would it be for VMWare to port its Linux version to OSX (bsd)? - the transitive solution however is as you said "a lot of fricking hard work"



    Id say that is why the "onmac.net" project has achieved its much deserved "hero" status.
